The knit changes density from one zone to the next: the front hugs the torso, the back is much thinner to let heat out. The mesh structure keeps a small gap between your skin and the jersey, where moisture reaches the outer layer and evaporates.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat cools you is sweat that evaporates, not sweat that drips. At 200 W, the body gives off about 700 W of heat: if it had to shed all of it through sweating, it would need to evaporate nearly a litre an hour. Take your usual size, not larger: the knit has to touch the skin to work.
