Garbaruk pulleys all have 14 and 16 teeth, but their bearing covers differ and offset the pulley inside the cage. The XPLR pulleys go on Rival, Force and Red XPLR 13-speed derailleurs, with the stock or the Garbaruk cage. The T-Type pulleys go on Eagle Transmission GX, X0, XX and XX SL; the S1000 and Eagle 90 are not on Garbaruk's list. T-Type pulleys on an XPLR work only with the Garbaruk cage.
On a Red XPLR, the stock carbon cage is too thick for a 10-52 cassette: when shifting onto the 52-tooth cog, it hits the cog. The Garbaruk XPLR cage, designed for that cog, solves the problem for 48 g. After fitting, redo the chain length with the SRAM calculator and set the setup guide on the 21-tooth cog: on the Garbaruk cassette, that is the seventh from the smallest, not the sixth as on the stock cassette.
A cage that doesn't twist keeps the pulleys aligned under the chain, and shifting stays precise when the derailleur takes a beating on a rough descent. That is the aim of the 53 g T-Type cage, which fits all Eagle Transmission derailleurs, from Eagle 90 to XX SL, reusing the stock pulleys and bolts. Cage, pulleys, 52-tooth cassette cog, chainring and cranks come in the same eight colours.
The XPLR pulleys fit the Rival, Force and Red XPLR 13-speed, the T-Type pulleys the Eagle Transmission GX, X0, XX and XX SL. Check your derailleur's model reference before ordering.
On Eagle Transmission, no: the 10-52 cassette also runs with the stock cage. On a Red XPLR, yes: the Garbaruk cage is needed to run the 52-tooth cog.
For the material and the colour: 7075 aluminium machined from solid, 25 g a pair in XPLR and 29 g in T-Type, in the shade of the cage or the chainring. The XPLR pulleys turn on sealed cartridge bearings.
