In Norway, skateboarding was banned until 1989. So in Trysil, a mountain village in Østerdalen, Ståle Møller and his friends built their own boards. Freestyle kayaking came next, then a carbon helmet for a friend who kayaked at the top level. Sweet Protection was officially founded in 2000, around Norwegian athletes who gave their input on every prototype: since then, no product has left Trysil without going through the team.
The brand made its name in skiing and snowboarding, up to Aksel Lund Svindal's downhill helmet, moulded in pre-preg carbon like a Formula 1 part. The first cycling helmet, the Fixer, arrived in 2012 for downhill mountain biking. Road followed in 2017 with the first Falconer, then a partnership with the Uno-X Mobility team, which pushes every helmet on aerodynamics and comfort. The 2Vi platform, launched in skiing in 2021, came to the cycling helmets two years later, with the Mips system against rotational forces.
For two road helmets that answer two ways of riding. The Tucker III, developed with a Formula 1 aerodynamicist, targets 45 to 50 km/h in a breakaway. The Falconer Aero, rated 5 stars by Virginia Tech, switches from aero to ventilation thanks to its magnetic covers. The whole selection is in our helmets.
In Norway: the brand is based in Oslo and develops its products in Trysil, with its team of athletes.
A helmet technology developed by Sweet Protection to improve protection and comfort without adding weight or bulk. On its cycling helmets, it integrates the Mips system.
The Tucker III for racing and efforts above 45 km/h, the Falconer Aero for one helmet all year round, aero with the covers on, ventilated with them off.
