Xcadey is the brand of Guangzhou Zhunchuang Technology, in Guangzhou, China. It has worked on power measurement since 2013: single-sided and dual-sided power meters first, then in 2019 its first spider power meter, the XPOWER-S, and in 2023 its second generation. Hardware design, firmware, testing and manufacturing all take place at its Guangzhou site. Its power meters are calibrated at different cadences, loads and temperatures, and every product goes through an assembly check, a function test and a final test before packing.
The XPOWER-S GEN2 takes the place of the stock spider, between the right crank and the chainrings. All the torque from both legs goes through it: eight strain gauges measure its deformation, an accelerometer gives the cadence. Xcadey quotes ±1%, or ±3 W at 300 W, and 350 hours of battery life, about eight months at 10 hours of riding a week. The limit lies in the principle: the spider sees the sum of both legs, so left-right balance is only an estimate.
For one precise reason: its Easton 110BCD-4S version fits the Cybrei GP-3 and Ultra crank arms, and turns a carbon crankset into a power meter without touching the cranks or the chainrings. Xcadey offers the same electronics in 25 spider models in machined 7075 aluminium; MAAKE offers nine, for SRAM, Easton and Shimano mounts. The crank arms and chainrings that go with it are on the Cybrei page.
Xcadey claims ±1%, or ±3 W at 300 W, with correction for temperature. It measures the total power of both legs; the left-right balance is only an estimate.
The one for your crank: SRAM 3-bolt, SRAM 8-bolt, Easton or Shimano refers to how the spider mounts, 4S or 5S to the number of chainring bolts. On a Cybrei GP-3 or Ultra crank, it is the Easton 110BCD-4S.
It transmits over ANT+ and Bluetooth: any head unit or app that reads these protocols will pick it up. The Xcadey app, on iOS and Android, handles the settings.
