Weight on the handlebar turns with the steering: you feel every kilo in corners and when you accelerate. The front is therefore the place for bulky, low-density items: tent, sleeping mat, warm clothes. The Handle Bar Roll Bag 02 carries them as a roll under the bar, opens at both ends and pushes the air out through a valve, so the load no longer shifts under the straps. It balances a loaded saddle bag.
On a road bar, the usable length of the roll is the space left between your hands, levers included. At 17 cm in diameter, a 40 cm roll still holds about 9 L; it only gets back to its 12.6 L at 55 cm. Compression straps pull the two ends in to clear the levers. Also allow 21 cm between the top of the bar and the tyre.
The Handle Bar Aero Bag 02 keeps the rain jacket in 4.9 L, under aerobar extensions or under a standard bar, with a zip that opens one-handed. Without extensions, tension it towards the fork crown, or it will pivot. The Food Pouch 02, against the stem, stays open: the ultra-distance tip is to fit two, one for what you eat, the other for empty wrappers.
The Handle Bar Bag Nano 01 fits a gilet into 1.3 L under a compatible aero cockpit or a computer mount with a GoPro interface, and holds on with a magnet. On a round 31.8 mm bar, it needs the Nano Handle Bar Mount 01. With more than 300 g inside, Cyclite requires the supplied safety strap: every bump pulls on the magnet.
Things that are bulky but light: tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag or warm clothes in a roll, the rain jacket and energy bars in a small bag you can open while riding. Heavy items are better in the frame.
On a road handlebar, yes if it is too long: its usable length is the space between your hands. A roll compressed at both ends, like the Handle Bar Roll Bag 02, clears the levers and still holds about 9 L over 40 cm.
Around 20 to 22 cm depending on the bag: 21 cm for the Handle Bar Roll Bag 02, 20 cm on the road and 22 cm on gravel for the Aero Bag 02, where mud and vibration bring everything closer to the tyre.
