Returns and withdrawal

An item is not right for you? You have 14 days after delivery to change your mind, without giving a reason. If your order arrives in several parcels, the period runs from delivery of the last one.

How to return an item

  1. Tell us you are withdrawing within 14 days of delivery: with the “Withdraw from the contract” button at the bottom of every page, by email to contact@maake.cc with your order number, or with the form below.
  2. We reply with the workshop's return address and a return number. Wait for this number before sending your parcel: it lets us identify it when it arrives.
  3. Send the item back no later than 14 days after telling us, with its accessories, its instructions and, if possible, its original packaging, well protected.

Return costs are paid by you. The item travels at your risk until it reaches the workshop: for a frameset, a wheelset or a bike, use a tracked shipment insured for its value.

We do not do direct exchanges: return the item and place a new order for the size or model you want.

Refund

We refund all amounts paid, including shipping costs up to the cheapest standard delivery rate we offer, no later than 14 days after we are told of your withdrawal. We may wait until we have received the item, or proof that it has been sent, before refunding you. The refund is made with the payment method used for the order, at no cost to you.

Condition of the item

You may handle the item as you would in a shop to check its nature, characteristics and proper working. We check every return at the workshop. If the item has been handled beyond that, its loss of value is deducted from the refund (article L.221-23 of the French Consumer Code): for example a fitted component, clamp marks, a tyre or a piece of clothing that has been used, a damaged or missing brand box. Exceptions

In accordance with article L.221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:

  • goods made or built to your specifications or clearly personalised, such as a bike built to order on a quote (components, sizes or finishes chosen by you);
  • goods unsealed after delivery that cannot be returned for hygiene or health protection reasons.

The right of withdrawal is reserved for consumers, and for businesses in the cases provided for by article L.221-3 of the French Consumer Code.

Faulty or damaged item
