    Description

    The 7mesh Ashlu Merino is a merino wool long-sleeve jersey for multi-day bike trips, on fast gravel as on the road, when the season turns mild.

    Its fabric blends 89% merino with 11% nylon. The wool brings what makes it so popular, according to 7mesh: it regulates temperature and holds back bacteria, and so odour, which matters when you pull the same jersey back on the next morning. The nylon gives it the strength of a jersey with no wool.

    On the back, five Anything pockets carry enough for the day, and a silicone gripper keeps the hem in place. Rated UPF 50+, the fabric lets through at most 1/50 of UV, so at least 98% blocked, on arms exposed from morning to evening. Cut close to the body, it takes a base layer underneath; when it turns cold, add the Chilco gilet.

    7mesh derived it from the short-sleeve Ashlu, one of its best-selling jerseys, adding articulated sleeves. We chose it for bike travel, which our Q36.5 jerseys, cut for the road, did not cover.
