    Two magnetic covers close the front vents: the helmet becomes more aerodynamic and keeps the rain out. They come off without tools and go in a jersey pocket when the road climbs or the heat arrives.

    The STACC channels (Superficial Temporal Arteries Cooling Channel) bring air to the temples, where the temporal arteries run just under the skin. Cooling the blood there helps the body regulate its temperature.

    The 2Vi platform integrates the Mips Air system, which allows relative movement between head and helmet in an angled impact to limit the rotation passed on to the head. Virginia Tech gave the helmet 5 stars, its top rating.

    Description

    The Falconer Aero 2Vi Mips is Sweet Protection's most complete road helmet, for the rider who strings together fast group rides, long days and climbs with a single helmet.

    It all comes down to two magnetic covers, the Aerocovers. Clipped on, they close the front vents: the helmet cuts through the air better and keeps the rain out. Taken off, they slip into a jersey pocket and open up the STACC ventilation, which sends air to the temples, where the arteries run just under the skin.

    The right habit: take the covers off at the foot of the climb. The power lost to the air rises with the cube of speed: at 15 km/h on a climb, it is only about 5% of what it costs at 40 km/h. Uphill, aero gains almost nothing while heat builds up. For long breakaways above 45 km/h, the Tucker III is designed for the job.

    Sweet Protection developed it with the Uno-X Mobility team, and Virginia Tech gave it 5 stars, its top rating. We chose it for riders who want one helmet, from cool mornings to summer climbs.
