    Description

    The women's 7mesh Guardian Air is a rain jacket for gravel and bike travel, where the weather changes without warning. 180 g according to 7mesh: it comes on every ride, folded into its own pocket.

    The outer fabric is a 15-denier ripstop nylon, 15 g per 9,000 m of yarn: thin enough to pack small, woven to resist snags. Waterproofing comes from the PFAS-free GORE-TEX ePE membrane: more than 28,000 mm of water column according to 7mesh, and a GORE-TEX guarantee that it stays waterproof, windproof and breathable for the life of the garment.

    Those 28,000 mm equal a pressure of 2.7 bar, more than a car tyre: rain on a descent or a backpack strap come nowhere near it. What gets you wet underneath is the vapour from your own effort: with no vents, open the two-way zip from the bottom on climbs. Take your usual size and check it with your hands in the drops: sleeves over the wrists, hem over the lower back. Underneath, a long-sleeve base layer is all you need in mid-season.

    It is designed and tested in Squamish, Canada, by a team founded by Arc'teryx alumni. We offer it as the backup jacket that never leaves the bike.
