    Key features

Veste imperméable femme 7mesh Guardian Apex, Black, gros plan : aérations sous les bras

Two zipped vents open under the arms, facing forward: air comes in as soon as you move, and the heat of the climb gets out before it soaks the inside.

Veste imperméable femme 7mesh Guardian Apex, Black, gros plan : une capuche qui devient col

The CrossPull hood fits over a helmet and cinches down with one hand. Rolled up and held by the StowAway Snap, it becomes a high collar that closes snugly around the neck.

Veste imperméable femme 7mesh Guardian Apex, Olive, gros plan : poches libres sac au dos

The two hand pockets sit above the hip belt of a pack or a harness: slip in the map and phone without unbuckling anything.

Veste imperméable femme 7mesh Guardian Apex, Supernova, gros plan : GORE-TEX ePE, 40 deniers

A 40-denier high-tenacity nylon on a PFAS-free GORE-TEX ePE membrane, with more than 28,000 mm of water column according to 7mesh.

    Description

The women's 7mesh Guardian Apex is the waterproof jacket for days that mix riding and walking: a gravel trip, a hike in the drizzle, a mountain pass climbed on foot pushing the bike. It is the all-rounder of the Guardian collection.

Under the arms, two forward-facing zipped vents let air in as soon as you move. The hand pockets sit high, so they stay accessible under a pack's hip belt, and the hood goes over a cycling or climbing helmet. The shell itself is a 40-denier nylon on a PFAS-free GORE-TEX ePE membrane: more than 28,000 mm of water column according to 7mesh.

Those vents are there for a reason: at 250 W at the pedals, the body gives off at least 750 W of heat, and shedding it through sweat would take more than a litre of evaporated water per hour, far more than a membrane lets through. Open them before you get hot. It does not insulate: keep the day's layer underneath. Take your usual size and raise your arms when you try it on: the stretch back follows. In cold weather, rain gloves complete the kit.

It is designed and tested in Squamish, between the ocean and the Coast Mountains, by a team founded by Arc'teryx alumni. We chose it as the one jacket for bike trips.
