    Each saddle rail gets its own aluminium hook, and a carbon strip stiffens the centre. The bag stays in line when you accelerate out of the saddle.

    The roll-top closes over a valve that pushes the air out. The contents settle, and the bag holds its shape instead of floating above the wheel.

    The volume sits behind you, in air you are already cutting through. It is the place for the sleeping bag and spare clothes, everything you only need at the bivouac.

    A rain jacket or a sleeping mat slides under the top elastic cords. What comes out often stays outside, without eating into the space inside.

    A mount takes the rear light and a large reflector covers the bag. Once loaded, it hides the seatpost: that is where the lighting has to be.

    Description

    The Cyclite Saddle Bag 02 is the brand's large saddle bag, for multi-day bikepacking and ultra-distance. Its 12.9 L take the sleeping bag, the wash bag and spare clothes.

    A loaded saddle bag sways, especially out of the saddle. Cyclite deals with it at the mount: an aluminium hook clamped onto each rail, and a carbon strip that stiffens the base. The roll-top closes over a valve that pushes the air out, and the load no longer floats above the wheel.

    Packing does the rest: dense items against the seatpost, bulky ones at the end. Two kilos centred 25 cm from the seatpost lever the mount with about 4.9 N·m. At 15 cm, only 2.9 remain, 40% less swing. Before ordering, check you have 23 cm between the rails and the tyre, suspension compressed, and 15 cm of exposed seatpost. At the front, a Handle Bar Roll Bag 02 acts as a counterweight.

    Cyclite designed this second generation around the mount, which TOUR and RennRad magazines praised. Heading off for several days without feeling what you carry: that is why MAAKE chose it.
