ELITEWHEELS Pro36 carbon MTB wheelset

A 29-inch cross-country wheel, the Pro36 puts a carbon rim with a 30 mm internal width on Elitewheels Pro ratchet hubs. It takes 2.2 to 2.7 in tubeless tyres. In Boost, the pair weighs 1,518 to 1,538 g depending on the brake interface and freehub body.

The rim is asymmetric: its spoke holes are offset 2.8 mm from its centreline. On the rear wheel, the cassette moves the drive-side flange closer to the centre. The spokes on that side then run at higher tension than those opposite. By offsetting the drilling, the rim opens up their angle and brings the tension on both sides closer together. Elitewheels expects a stronger, laterally stiffer wheel from it.

The 28 Sapim CX-Ray spokes, laced three-cross on both sides, complete the build. The 36-tooth ratchet engages every 10 degrees: pickup is less immediate than with a finer ratchet, but maintenance stays simple. To replace a spoke, the brand publishes the rim's ERD, 590 mm, the diameter used to calculate spoke length. Pressure must not exceed 50 psi, total load 125 kg, and the wheel is not designed for an e-MTB.
