    Key features

Plateau Garbaruk DM Road/Gravel, Noir, face arrière, monté sur une manivelle Garbaruk

The chainring offset is matched to the Garbaruk Road/Gravel crankset, which it was designed for.

Plateau Garbaruk DM Road/Gravel, Argent, monté sur une manivelle Garbaruk

Alternating thickness and taller teeth than a standard chainring: the chain stays on when the bike is rattling over rocks.

Plateau Garbaruk DM Road/Gravel, Bleu, monté sur une manivelle Garbaruk

According to Garbaruk, switching to a single chainring takes 150 to 400 g off the bike: no more front derailleur or chain guide.

Plateau Garbaruk DM Road/Gravel, Or, monté sur une manivelle Garbaruk

Black, silver, blue, red, violet, orange, green or gold: the colours of Garbaruk's cranks and cassettes.

    Description

The Garbaruk DM Road/Gravel chainring is the single chainring designed for the Garbaruk Road/Gravel crankset. It mounts straight onto the crank without a spider, on the Cannondale/FSA interface, and comes in 36 to 46 teeth in eight colours.

Its teeth hold the chain without a guide. Their thickness alternates to fill the wide and narrow links in turn, and they are taller than on a conventional chainring: when the bike is getting shaken about, the chain has less room to jump off.

Changing tooth count leaves the self-extractor nut alone: you remove the drive-side crank with a 10 mm hex key, then the chainring nut with a Shimano TL-FC33-type bottom bracket tool, tightened back to 35 N·m. On a Garbaruk XC crankset, its 4.5 mm offset shifts the chainline by 1.5 mm.

Garbaruk machines it near Kraków. MAAKE offers it so you can change tooth count or colour without changing cranks.
