    On Rival XPLR and Force XPLR, the stock cage clears the 52-tooth cog. On Red XPLR, the carbon cage is too thick: you need Garbaruk's.

    The 7075-T651 aluminium largest cog can be replaced on its own once it is worn, and comes in eight colours.

    Description

    Garbaruk's GEN2.0 XPLR is a 13-speed 10-52T cassette for SRAM XPLR groupsets, which were designed around a 10-46. It fits an XD freehub body, or XDR with the 1.8 mm spacer included, with a SRAM Flattop chain.

    Those six extra teeth change how you climb. On a 700 × 45 tyre with a 40-tooth chainring, one pedal revolution takes you 1.72 m in the 52, against 1.95 m in the 46: 22 cm less on every revolution, at the same cadence.

    It weighs 343 g: twelve chromoly steel cogs and a 7075-T651 aluminium 52-tooth that can be replaced on its own. With Rival XPLR and Force XPLR, the stock derailleur does the job; Red XPLR needs the Garbaruk cage, as its own is too thick.

    Garbaruk machines it near Kraków, in Poland. MAAKE offers it to give an XPLR gravel bike a mountain bike range, with the Garbaruk Road/Gravel crankset to match the drivetrain.
