    Lever, hose, mounting bolts and rotor not supplied. Never mix DOT and mineral oil: any fluid other than the caliper's own causes brake failure.

    Description

    The Hope RX4+ SL FMF+20 is the front caliper only: no lever, no hose, no bolts. It sits on a flat mount fork, connects to the hose of your levers with the supplied Hope fittings, and its version follows those levers: DOT for SRAM, mineral for Shimano and Campagnolo.

    At the front, where most of the braking happens, Hope focuses on stiffness: a one-piece body machined from 2014 T6 aluminium, for a less vague lever and pads that rub less.

    On a 160/180 fork, it takes a 180 mm rotor with no adapter. The pads sit 10 mm further from the axle: for the same effort, torque rises by more than 12% compared with a 160 mm rotor. When fitting, 8 to 9 mm of each bolt must go into the fork. At the rear, it's the RX4+ SL FM+20.

    Hope guarantees spare parts for at least ten years after production ends. MAAKE chose it to move to four pistons at the front without changing levers.
