    Key features
Plateau Stone Aero Easton Cinch, Noir, vue de face

The front face is closed and lined with radiating ribs. Stone credits its Aero chainrings with more stiffness and an integrated look, with a little more chain noise than a hollow chainring.

Plateau Stone Aero Easton Cinch, Noir, face arrière

On the back, five arms radiate around the Cinch interface. The chainring fits the cranks, spiders and power meters that use the Easton EC90 SL interface.

Plateau Stone Aero Easton Cinch, Noir, monté sur une manivelle Cybrei

Alternating wide and narrow teeth: the SRAM AXS Flattop chain stays in place without a chain guide. Stone also claims better mud clearance.

    Description

The Stone Aero Easton Cinch is a solid-face single chainring for Easton EC90 SL Cinch cranks, for gravel or road. Its AXS tooth profile needs a SRAM AXS Flattop chain.

It holds the chain without a guide thanks to its narrow-wide tooth profile: the wide tooth fills the gap between the outer plates, the narrow one the gap between the inner plates. The chain has no side play left to jump when the track gets rough.

According to Stone, the solid face brings more stiffness, at the cost of a little more chain noise. On a 1x road bike, a 54 × 11 covers 10.5 m per pedal revolution on 700 × 28 tyres, or 56 km/h at 90 rpm. Its 3.5 mm offset puts the teeth 0.9 mm further from the frame than the STONEDW Hollow Easton Cinch (4.4 mm). Not for MTB.

Stone machines it from an 8 mm plate of 7075-T651, to within 0.03 mm. MAAKE picks it to convert an Easton crank to a single chainring with a closed face.
