    Stone 8-bolt DUB cranks sold by MAAKE: supplied with the 120 mm spindle, to SRAM Force D1 specifications (standard spindle). The 125 mm spindle, to SRAM Wide specifications according to Stone, must be requested before ordering.

    Description

    The STONEDW Hollow DUB WIDE only fits a SRAM 8-bolt crank with a DUB WIDE spindle, Rival, Force or RED AXS in the wide version. It is the hollow version, for a gravel or road 1x chainring you forget is there.

    The design removes the material between the arms: 88.2 g in 36 teeth, 120.3 g in 46. Less solid surface means less material to resonate and less to catch the wind: Stone says it is quieter and less held back by crosswinds.

    Compared with the solid version, it saves 1.8 to 6.9 g depending on tooth count, at the cost of a little stiffness in a sprint. For off-road gravel, Stone recommends 36 or 38 teeth. On a standard DUB spindle, the chainline drops from 47.3 to 44.8 mm: not a supported setup.

    Stone engraves the chain it expects on the chainring, “FOR AXS 12SP” or “FOR T-TYPE”. MAAKE chooses it for long rides, where silence counts as much as grams.
