    Frame and fork in TORAYCA T1100 and T800, with M40 high-modulus reinforcements. 650 g raw in size M; painted, from 696 g in Matte Carbon Gold to 736 g in Billow, the difference coming from the paint. The resin gives 12% more stiffness than a conventional resin, without adding material.

    Evolve tested the CIMA at the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub, on top of 21 in-house tests on the frame and fork. The shape is worked for the flat and long straights, where drag decides your speed.

    Two fork offsets, 44 mm from XS to M then 40.2 mm from ML to XL, and three BB drops. The stack to reach ratio goes from 1.36 to 1.50, and the steering behaves the same from one size to the next: you choose a size, not a character.

    The frame takes a 58-tooth chainring, a sprinter's gearing. Compatible with Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo WRL electronic groupsets; Campagnolo EPS doesn't fit, its battery is too wide for the frame. Worth checking before you order a groupset.

    Threaded BSA 68 mm bottom bracket, SRAM UDH hanger, internal cables, CeramicSpeed SLT headset bearings. Evolve chose BSA over T47: about 50 g lighter, and bottom brackets available from Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo.

    24 to 32 mm tyre clearance in 700C, flat mount disc brakes up to 160 mm front and rear. Enough for a 28 or 30 mm tubeless tyre, run at lower pressure on rough tarmac.

    Description

    The Evolve CIMA is a road frameset, supplied with fork and seatpost, that refuses to choose between climber and aero. Painted, the frame weighs 696 to 736 g in size M depending on the colour. Six sizes cover riders from 146 to 202 cm. The stock top cap is designed for the Kreuza Apex handlebar, sold separately.

    The weight comes from the layup, not from saving on material. Evolve combines TORAYCA T1100 and T800, M40 high-modulus reinforcements and a resin that, according to the brand, brings 12% more stiffness than a conventional resin. Unpainted, the frame weighs 650 g in M: the rest is paint. It passes 21 in-house tests beyond the ISO standard, and the German Zedler institute certified it at Advanced level.

    Weight and aero don't do their work in the same place. At 6% and 15 km/h, every kilo costs 2.45 W: on a climb, you pay for weight. At 40 km/h on the flat, the air takes around 250 W and rolling resistance about forty: there, shape is what counts. The build stays simple: 68 mm BSA bottom bracket, SRAM UDH hanger, CeramicSpeed SLT bearings, chainring up to 58 teeth. The only exclusion is Campagnolo's EPS, whose battery won't fit in the frame.

    Evolve validated the CIMA's shape in the wind tunnel at the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub and covers it with its limited lifetime warranty. At MAAKE, it is listed for its balance between a climber's weight, a carefully worked shape and workshop-friendly standards.
