    Cintre intégré gravel Kreuza Apex GR

    Bar and stem come out of a single T800 carbon mould: 310 g painted at 385 mm with a 100 mm stem, with no stem bolts to keep an eye on. Width and length are chosen when you order, from eighteen combinations.

    The profile carries over the NACA aerofoil of the road bar, 16 mm at its thinnest section. The bar is the first part the air meets after the front wheel, including on the fast rolling sections of a gravel course.

    The top of the bar rises 15 mm above the stem. The hoods sit higher without spacers under the stem: height is set within the part, not in the headset stack.

    The drops are 60 mm wider than the hoods. On a rough descent, you get more leverage on the bar and the wrist works in line rather than across.

    Reach is shorter and drop is shallower than on the road bar. Your hand gets back up to the hoods faster, and the low position is sustainable on a long ride.

    The interface for extensions is moulded into the bar. An aerobar attaches to it without a clamp tightened around the carbon tube: the interface takes the load, not the bar wall.

    Compatibility

    The handlebar fits with a Kreuza Apex headset top cap, specified frame by frame, and takes the Kreuza aerobar interface. The Kreuza computer mount bolts into the handlebar.

    Description

    The Kreuza Apex GR is the gravel version of Kreuza's integrated cockpit, for long days on gravel tracks. It fits on the stock top cap of an Evolve CIMA GR, and on other frames with the Kreuza Apex adapter for that model.

    Three dimensions set it apart from the road bar. The 15 mm rise lifts the hoods without spacers under the stem. The shorter reach and reduced drop bring your hands quickly back to the hoods, and the flare spreads the hands in the drops.

    That flare is 14.6°: over 115 mm of drop, each hand moves out by about 30 mm. In the drops of a 385 mm bar, you are holding it at around 445 mm, a lever arm about 15% longer when the front wheel slides. The aerobar interface is moulded: the extensions don't clamp onto the carbon.

    Kreuza offers it as a set with Evolve's CIMA GR. It takes extensions without any bodging, which earns it its place at MAAKE for long-distance gravel.
