    Key features

    Key features
Fourche gravel suspendue KS GTC, couronne avec molette de blocage et valve d'air

A dial on the crown locks the fork for a hard acceleration or a stretch of tarmac, then opens it again when the gravel comes back. On the other side, the air valve waits for the pump under its cap.

Fourche gravel suspendue KS GTC, arceau en carbone

KS pairs a carbon arch with composite lowers in high-modulus carbon and AL6061 aluminium. The 30 mm stanchions are hard-anodised AL7050 aluminium, under a forged AL6066-T6 crown.

Fourche gravel suspendue KS GTC, molette de détente au pied de fourche

The red dial at the bottom of the lower sets how fast the fork extends after an impact. The higher the air pressure, the more you slow the rebound, so the fork doesn't slam at full extension.

Fourche gravel suspendue KS GTC, passage de pneu sous l'arceau

The arch clears a 700x50c tyre. The fork takes the wide tyres you fit for the roughest gravel.

Fourche gravel suspendue KS GTC, pied de fourche et axe traversant

The wheel is held by a 12 mm thru-axle for a 100 mm hub, inserted from the brake side and tightened to 10 N·m at most. The caliper is Flat Mount, on a 160 to 180 mm rotor.

    Description

The KS GTC is a 40 mm suspension fork for gravel and e-gravel, made for rough tracks where your hands take every stone. It fits a frame with a 1.5-inch tapered head tube designed for a 435 mm axle-to-crown.

Air spring, oil damping: inflated to sink 6 to 10 mm under your weight, it keeps its travel for the hits. The front wheel follows the ground instead of bouncing, and the steering stays precise when the track gets rougher. Rebound is set at the bottom of the fork leg, and the dial on the crown locks the fork out on tarmac.

Then there is the geometry. On a frame designed around a shorter rigid fork, every extra centimetre of axle-to-crown raises the front end and slackens the head angle by about half a degree. At sag, its axle-to-crown falls between 425 and 429 mm: compare that with your current fork. KS limits spacers to 30 mm under the stem, and the fork to ASTM categories 1 and 2: road, light cross-country, dirt paths.

The GTC marks KS's entry into gravel, tested by Vojo and BikeRadar. We offer it for frames designed for suspension, for riders who want to smooth out the track and ride rigid on tarmac.
