    Key features

Sous-vêtement vélo sans manches Q36.5 Base Layer 1, Blanc, gros plan : cartographie corporelle avancée

The knit changes density according to where you sweat. The front follows the shape of the torso, the back is much thinner to let excess heat escape.

Sous-vêtement vélo sans manches Q36.5 Base Layer 1, Blanc, gros plan : construction sans couture

Knitted as a tube on Karl Mayer Seamless machines, it has no seam to rub under your bib straps. The knit stretches in every direction and sits like a second skin.

Sous-vêtement vélo sans manches Q36.5 Base Layer 1, Blanc, gros plan : ultra-respirant

The mesh structure keeps a small gap between your skin and the jersey. Sweat moves through it to the outer layer and evaporates instead of staying stuck to your torso.

    Description

The Q36.5 Base Layer 1 is a sleeveless base layer to wear under the jersey from 22 °C, from long rides to hard sessions. Its job: get sweat off your skin before it glues the jersey to your back.

It is knitted as a tube on Karl Mayer Seamless machines, with no seams. The knit changes density from one zone to the next: the front hugs the torso, the back is much thinner to let heat out. The mesh structure keeps a small gap between your skin and the jersey, where moisture reaches the outer layer and evaporates.

What cools you is sweat that evaporates, not sweat that drips. At 200 W, the body gives off about 700 W of heat: if it had to shed all of it through sweating, it would need to evaporate nearly a litre an hour. Take your usual size, not larger: the knit has to touch the skin to work. When the temperature drops, move to the Base Layer 3.

Q36.5 has it knitted in Italy, on the same seamless machines as its winter base layers. We chose it because you forget it is there under the jersey all summer long.
