Q36.5 DOTTORE CLIMA road shoes

The Q36.5 Dottore Clima is the brand's road shoe for hot days and hard efforts: a training camp in Spain, a summer criterium, threshold sessions. Q36.5 rates it for 25 °C.

In the heat, the foot swells and every pressure point costs you. The upper is knitted in a single piece, with no seams and no glued-on TPU reinforcements: the knit changes density from zone to zone, and with no glue, vapour can escape. To keep the foot from moving around in this sock-like upper, the Power Wrap support wraps the instep and the two BOA dials hold it in place.

The zone-mapped carbon sole keeps some flex that eases the load on the tendons. A fitter's tip: try it on at the end of the day, with warm feet. The Q36.5 guide gives 27 cm for a size 42 and half sizes 3 to 4 mm apart, enough to get the length right without overtightening. 270 g in size 42: this is not a winter shoe.

The Dottore Clima came out of QLAB, the lab where Q36.5 works on thermoregulation, and it is made in Italy. It treats heat as a question of fit, and that is what won MAAKE over.
