    At the lower back, a panel in high-density woven fabric adds compression on the lower back and glute muscles. It is the same panel as on the Dottore Pro: it stabilises your position on the saddle, and for Q36.5 that stability translates into power.

    Description

    The Q36.5 Dottore Hybrid is a thermal bib short for mid-season riding, from 8 to 18 °C. The Q36.5 pro team asked for it for the Northern Classics, to keep the feel of a summer bib short in the cold of spring. In a mild climate, it covers the whole winter.

    At the lower back, it takes the lumbar panel from the Dottore Pro: a high-density woven fabric that compresses the lower back and glutes to stabilise your position, which Q36.5 says means more power. The legs switch to a knitted, brushed thermal fabric that keeps you warm without restricting your pedal stroke.

    The knees stay bare: below 8 °C, switch to the Dottore Hybrid bib tights. Measure your waist at its narrowest point, as the Q36.5 size guide asks, then try them on with your hands on the hoods: standing up, bib shorts look short. Leaning forward, the pad stays under your sit bones without bunching and the lumbar panel sits flat against your back.

    Q36.5 makes it in Italy, and its riders have put it through nearly 300 km of spring racing. We chose it for the weeks that are too cool for summer bib shorts and too mild for bib tights.
