    The head curves backwards and places the clamp 20 mm behind the axis of the tube. That is the setback of a classic road seatpost: as a replacement, your saddle stays where it was.

    27.2, 30.9 or 31.6 mm: check the value engraved on your current seatpost or in the frame's spec sheet. Only 0.7 mm separates the two largest diameters, a difference you cannot see.

    The clamp tightens with a single side bolt. Loosened, it frees the tilt and fore-aft of the saddle; tightened to 12 Nm at most, it locks both together.

    Description

    The WCS 1-Bolt is a Ritchey aluminium seatpost with 20 mm of setback: the clamp sits behind the axis of the tube, as on most road seatposts. If your current seatpost has a similar setback, the saddle stays where it is.

    That leaves the diameter. It is usually engraved on the installed seatpost and listed in the frame's specifications; otherwise, a calliper on the old seatpost settles it. Between 30.9 and 31.6 mm, there is 0.7 mm of difference: invisible to the eye, but a seatpost that is too thin never clamps properly.

    Ritchey counts 100 mm of minimum insertion within the length: at most 250 mm can stay out of the frame on the 350 mm, 300 mm on the 400 mm. With less insertion, the seatpost levers on the top of the seat tube. If the frame requires more, its figure takes precedence.

    The 7050 aluminium is thinned from the inside, with the wall staying thick in the line of the loads. At MAAKE, it is the seatpost for 30.9 mm frames, which the Superlogic FlexLogic does not cover.
