    Each size carries two widths: a 38/42 measures 38 cm at the hoods and 42 cm in the drops. The 10° of flare moves each hand out by 2 cm when you drop down into the drops.

    The Streem's tops are flattened, not round. Your palms get a wide platform during the hours spent on the tops, and Ritchey also gets an aerodynamic benefit from it.

    Hoses and housing run inside, fully or partly, and the Shimano Di2 EW-RS910 junction box fits in the bar end. The cockpit stays clean, with no housing flapping under the tape.

    80 mm of reach, 120 mm of drop, and a radius that changes continuously along the bend. Your hand moves from one position to the next without running into a corner. The tops sweep back 5° towards you, which according to Ritchey limits fatigue over long distances.

    Ritchey quotes 310 g "in 42 cm" without saying whether that means the 38/42 or the 42/46. Housing wider than usual can make internal routing difficult.

    Description

    The Ritchey WCS Streem is an aluminium road handlebar for long rides and race days. It comes in two widths: a 38/42 measures 38 cm at the hoods and 42 cm in the drops.

    Up top, the narrower hoods bring your forearms in front of your chest: less frontal area, less drag. In the drops, the 10° of flare moves each hand out by 2 cm. The lever arm on the steering goes from 19 to 21 cm. For the same steering input, your hand pushes nearly 10% less hard, and the bike is steadier on descents.

    To choose, start from the width of your current hoods: the position on the hoods does not change, only the drops open out. Ritchey rules out just one stem, the Superlogic C260; the WCS C220 84D is not affected.

    Ritchey keeps the 6066 aluminium and the internal routing of the original Streem; only the shape changes. MAAKE picks it as its aluminium aero road handlebar, UCI approved.
