    Chain load spreads across the whole disc instead of running through a few arms. Stone gets a stiffer chainring out of it, with a look that blends into the crank.

    The profile is cut for the SRAM AXS Flattop 12-speed chain, and for that chain only. A non-AXS or 11-speed chain does not belong on it.

    The chainring mounts directly on the 8-bolt interface of SRAM Force, Red and Rival AXS cranks, with no spider. Bolts are not included.

    Stone puts it through 50,000 cycles at 1,800 N, at 45°. The 7075-T651 aluminium is machined to within 0.03 mm and engraved with its part number.

    Description

    The Stone Aero SRAM 8-bolt is a 1x chainring for SRAM 8-bolt direct mount cranks and the SRAM AXS Flattop 12-speed chain. Road and gravel, from 40 to 56 teeth.

    Its face is solid: chain load is spread across the whole disc instead of a few arms, and Stone gets a stiffer chainring out of it. The disc is 8 mm thick, in 7075-T651 machined to within 0.03 mm.

    With no front derailleur, the teeth alone hold the chain: wide and narrow teeth alternate to fill the outer and inner links, so the chain no longer slips sideways. This profile requires the Flattop. The 4.2 mm offset gives a 46 mm chainline, a road and gravel figure, not MTB. According to Stone, the solid face can make the chain a little noisier. Bolts not included.

    Stone puts it on the test bench: 50,000 cycles at 1,800 N at 45°. MAAKE pairs it with the Stone DUB 8-bolt crank arms, the cranks Stone quotes this 46 mm with.
