    The 8-bolt direct mount interface takes a chainring, a double spider or a power meter spider. You change what goes on the front without touching the cranks.

    The 29 mm DUB spindle is aluminium, with spline symmetry within 0.015 mm and roundness within 0.01 mm. Renishaw probing measures the part during machining and corrects the machine.

    The arms are 7050-T7451, chosen for its fatigue strength. The other parts are 7075-T651, for its strength-to-weight ratio.

    Stone validated the crank at 1,800 N, at 45° then at 30°, over 100,000 cycles at each angle.

    With the stock spindle, the Q-factor is 146 mm, on SRAM Force-compatible settings. The 125 mm spindle, available on request, takes it to 151 mm.

    Description

    The Stone DUB 8-bolt crank arms are an aluminium crankset base for road and gravel, for riders who want to choose what goes on the front: chainring, double spider or power meter with an 8-bolt interface.

    It all starts with the 29 mm DUB spindle: Stone holds its splines to 0.015 mm of symmetry and its roundness to 0.01 mm, thanks to in-process probing during machining. The splines fit snugly into the crank arm.

    The 120 mm spindle supplied as standard gives a 146 mm Q-factor, the distance between the outer faces of the crank arms. With a Stone chainring with a 4.2 mm offset, the chainline is 46 mm. The 125 mm spindle, available on request before you order, moves each foot out by 2.5 mm and the chain by the same amount: Stone intends it for gravel. No Shimano 24 mm bottom bracket, no 3-bolt chainring.

    Stone machines these crank arms in-house and validates them at 1,800 N at two angles. MAAKE picks them as a base that evolves: another chainring, a power meter, without touching the rest.
