    The bar rises 40 mm above the stem, moulded into the part. The cockpit comes up without a stack of spacers under the stem, and the line stays continuous from the bar to the frame.

    WinSpace shortened the effective stem length: less lever arm between the head tube and the bar, so less flex when you load the bar to accelerate. Six lengths, from 85 to 135 mm.

    Housing and brake hoses run inside the bar all the way to the frame. No more loops flapping in front of the head tube.

    WinSpace combines Toray T800 and T1000 fibres: a claimed 320 g in 400 × 105 mm, bar and stem included. There is no stem left to add on the scales.

    The computer mount, its three adapters and the combined light and action camera mount attach to the front of the bar. Nothing to add on the steerer.

    The headset top cap depends on the frame: WinSpace lists it model by model, from recent WinSpace frames to the Tarmac SL7 and SL8, Madone, Aeroad, Addict RC or V4RS.

    Description

    The WinSpace HYPER 2 Riser is a handlebar and stem moulded in one piece, with a 40 mm rise built into the carbon. It is aimed at the road racer who wants an integrated cockpit without a slammed position.

    WinSpace has shortened the effective stem length: less lever arm between the head tube and the bar, so less flex when you pull on it to accelerate. The housing runs inside, with no loops in front of the head tube.

    Those 40 mm are what a conventional 105 mm stem gains when flipped from −11° to +11°. Here, the stem is moulded in, and both length and width are fixed: start from your current position to choose. On a recent WinSpace frame it fits as it is; elsewhere you need the headset adapter for that frame model.

    WinSpace pairs it with its SLC5 in its complete builds. It combines an integrated cockpit with a high position, the one most of us actually ride, and that is why MAAKE chose it.
