    Two 7075-T651 aluminium shells, machined then joined: aiming for the weight of carbon while keeping the toughness of aluminium.

    The self-extractor nut, which pushes the crank off when you remove it, matches the colour of the cranks. It stays in place when you change chainrings.

    Description

    The Garbaruk XC crankset pairs aluminium crank arms on a 136 mm SRAM DUB spindle with the Garbaruk MTB direct mount chainring, in the same colour. It is built for Boost cross-country riding: 52 mm chainline, 170 mm Q-factor.

    Each crank arm starts as two shells machined from 7075-T651 aluminium and joined together, hollow inside: the target is the weight of carbon while keeping the reliability of aluminium. Count on 399 to 412 g without chainring, depending on length. The chainring, with its 3 mm offset, is designed for the SRAM T-Type chain.

    With a 10-52 cassette and a 29 × 2.4 wheel, the 32-tooth covers 1.44 m per pedal revolution in the 52: at 70 rpm, that is 6 km/h. The limits: no Super Boost frames, and a bottom bracket shell no wider than 98 mm.

    Garbaruk machines it near Kraków. MAAKE offers it colour-matched, nut included, so you can build an XC mountain bike in a single colour right through to the Garbaruk T-Type cassette.
