Q36.5 GREGARIUS road shoes

The Q36.5 Gregarius is the brand's road shoe for long endurance rides, and for riders who find race shoes too harsh. It mixes ideas from the Dottore and Clima with a more conventional construction.

It all happens under the ball of the foot. The sole is a carbon fibre and polyamide composite: the carbon handles the push, and the polyamide takes away the harshness of a full-carbon plate. You won't feel it in the first ten minutes. You feel it in the fourth hour, when a foot that hasn't been squeezed tight still wants to push.

The forefoot is wide at the metatarsals, and the two BOA L6 dials adjust the fit by zone: on a wide foot, you hold the instep and let the forefoot breathe. A fitter's tip: move your cleats slightly back towards the midfoot, and your calf works less over long distances. Three-hole sole for road cleats, 250 g in size 42.

Q36.5 makes the Gregarius in Italy, with the same Solestar insoles as its race models. To riders who ride long and care more about the sixth hour than the last watt of a sprint, MAAKE recommends the Gregarius.
