    Description

The Cybrei Evo is an aluminium road outer chainring for Shimano 110×4 cranks and spiders, 11- or 12-speed, available in eight anodised colours. It is sold on its own: the Cybrei inner chainring and the bolts are sold separately.

Cybrei machines it from 5.6 mm thick 7075-T6 aluminium, then pockets its face. The thickness gives the stiffness, the pockets remove the material that does no work: the brand claims 12% more stiffness than a conventional aluminium chainring, for less weight.

That stiffness works under load. In a sprint at 1,200 W and 110 rpm, torque at the cranks reaches 104 N·m; on a 50-tooth chainring with a 101 mm pitch radius, the chain then pulls with about 1,030 N, the weight of 105 kg, and the chainring takes that pull. The one limit: Cybrei does not publish the weight of the outer chainring alone.

Its colours match those of Cybrei's bolts, shade for shade. MAAKE picks it to add colour to a drivetrain without giving up a stiff chainring.
