    Key features

Manivelles Cybrei Ultra, Black, axe carbone DUB

Cybrei replaces the alloy spindle with a 28.99 mm carbon spindle, to the SRAM DUB standard. The arms and spindle weigh about 270 g for the pair.

Manivelles Cybrei Ultra, Black, marquage Ultra sur le bras

The arms are high-modulus Toray T1000 carbon, moulded with an in-house dual-channel EPS process.

Manivelles Cybrei Ultra, Black, montées avec étoile et double plateau sur un vélo de route

The Easton Cinch direct mount interface takes a double chainring spider, a direct mount chainring or a power meter spider. The front of the crankset can change without changing cranks.

Manivelles Cybrei Ultra, Black, un bras vu de face

From 155 to 172.5 mm. Short lengths open the hip angle at the top of the stroke, useful in a low position.

Manivelles Cybrei Ultra, Black, sur un vélo de route

150 mm between the outer faces of the cranks, a stance width designed for leg alignment and aerodynamics.

    Description

The Cybrei Ultra crank arms are for road bikes built down to the gram: Toray T1000 carbon arms, a carbon spindle too, about 270 g a pair with the spindle.

It all comes down to the spindle. Carbon cranks usually keep an alloy spindle: Cybrei replaces it with a 28.99 mm carbon spindle, to the SRAM DUB standard, with no claimed loss of torsional stiffness.

DUB alone has a mechanical logic: for the same wall thickness, a tube resists torsion in proportion to the cube of its diameter, nearly 1.8 times more at 29 mm than at 24 mm. That large diameter gives the carbon some margin. The flip side: no Shimano 24 mm version, and six lengths from 155 to 172.5 mm. For a 24 mm bottom bracket, there is the Cybrei GP-3.

The Ultra builds on the GP-3, which Cybrei tested with UCI Continental teams. MAAKE picks it for road builds where every gram counts.
